Hidden from the outside world on the island of Antigua is the most renowned resort in all of the Caribbean, The Saint James Club. Nestled on a 100-acre private peninsula, The St. James Club has brought fame and fortune to the tiny island of Antigua. Movie Stars, Heads of State, and the otherwise Rich and Famous have found refuge here.

For the not so rich and famous, Sandals has a wonderful all inclusive resort located at Dickenson Bay. Sandals is a special type of resort designed for couples. In addition, the Royal Antiguan Beach & Tennis Resort (photo above) is another extraordinary resort. And a smaller resort located on 37 acres, the Antigua Yepton Beach Resort offers a remote location for those who cherish privacy.

Cruise ships have also discovered the serene and peaceful island of Antigua. They dock at St. John, the capital of Antigua. Passenger's can walk from the cruise ship to the shopping district. Jewelry stores like Colombian Emeralds and Little Switzerland have duty free shopping here. In fact, the maximum allotment allowed as exempt from duty is $ 600.00 (US), $ 200.00 higher than St. Thomas and second only to St. Maarten.

Cedar Valley Golf Course has an 18-hole course on the island. Halcyon Cove at Dickenson Bay offers the best water sports activities. Reliable Stables offers beach horseback ridding on the island. And Dive Antigua offers an extraordinary scuba diving program.

English Harbour on the west coast of Antigua is the most historic town in all the Caribbean. Nelson's Dockyard is a must see if you visit Antigua. Close by is Admiral's Inn and Restaurant. In addition to a fine restaurant, the Inn resembles a 16th century English pub. English Harbour is also home for the most renowned yacht regatta in the Caribbean, Antigua Race Week. This event is held at the end of April each year.
